Regulatory Compliance Engineer

  • Context: key role to contribute to best in class design of Connected Home devices, ensuring compliance against most stringent regularory standards indue time and with optimized costs

Basic purposethe job holder will actively contribute to ensure best in class products design - compliant with worldwide standards related to: Electromagnetic Compatibility, Safety, Efficient use of the Spectrum and Power Efficiency.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the design of the products (e.g. PCB routing, protections) in line with standards, specific customer requirements and rules of the art to prevent product compliance issues;
  • Organize certification campaigns in external laboratories, including cost optimization and timetables;
  • Guarantee and develop product regulatory compliance plans before starting the mass production;
  • Constant watch over the international standards, directives and regulations and interpretation of requirements; ensure established product certifications are in conformance with updated and current standards;
  • Drive and closely supervise certifications done by OEM and ODM subcontractors including reviewing and evaluating test reports, cost optimization and timetables;
  • Bring compliance by identifying non-compliance issues, conducting tests/measurements and debug for in-house designs;
  • Accountable for Regulatory Certifications methods, determine compliance plans, concepts, tools and standards at all stages of a product life cycle;
  • Accountable for interfacing with the appropriate internal and external project teams to ensure the successful deployment and good performance of the product in line with the customer's environment, according to the compliance qualification's area ; review open issues and actions required, coordinate actions, contribute to project teams meeting and reports; making sure project team deadlines are met;
  • Documentation compliance by preparing and completing approval applications where needed, collecting, reviewing and recording test results, preparing reports, preparing and filing Declarations of Conformity; maintain compliance database.

 

Profile:

  • Experience Level: at least 5 years;
  • MS degree or above in Electrical Engineering or related discipline;
  • Analog and Digital Hardware profile but having also software agility;
  • Solid experience with international EMC, Safety, Radio (e.g. Wi-Fi, Bluetooth) and Power Efficiency regulatory aspects is a requirement; Experience with product testing and analysis with Laboratories is a strong plus;
  • Fluent English language (both orally and in writing): Mandatory;
  • Good Communication capability: Mandatory;
  • High degree of initiative and responsibility. Must be able to adapt permanently to priorities and planning;
  • Experience managing an external ODM would be a strong plus;
  • Knowledge in multimedia ecosystems, wireless transmission technologies and electromagnetic simulation would be a strong plus.
