Clerk

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Keeps detailed records and responsible for and accountable for all documentation.

Communicate effectively with other employees and departments as required.

Prepare and distribute daily reports for management and customers as needed.

Writes, types, or enters information into computer to prepare correspondence, bills, statements, receipts, or other documents, copying information from one record to another.

Proofreads records or forms. Sorts and files records.

Addresses envelopes or packages. Stuffs envelopes by hand or with envelope stuffing machine.

Answers telephone and conveys messages.

Sorts and distributes mail. Stamps or numbers forms by hand or machine.

Photocopies documents.

Must be able to work overtime as required.

Must be able to work with minimal supervision.

 

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

High School diploma with some college courses preferred; or three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

 

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

 

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

 

REASONING ABILITY:

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

 

OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES:

Must have intermediate PC experience.  Microsoft Word and Excel required; Access preferred.  Must be able to successfully pass the Intermediate Excel test.

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to sit and use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.

The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions.

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
