Dailies Operator


  • Liaises with on-set crews for scheduling and deliverables.
  • Answer questions, trouble-shoots issues and escalates where appropriate.
  • Obtain original camera digital negative, along with relevant information/reports.
  • Assesses the media for corruption and errors and extracts and archives the original camera negative.
  • Removes and reapplies the CDL or LUT.
  • Identifies the dailies deliverables required, transcodes and creates appropriate deliverables as required by the Production.
  • Arrange travel and accommodation, handles Dailies equipment. Follows pipelines, workflows and specification, making recommendations for improvements.
  • Proactively update knowledge of camera.



Knowledge and Experience


• Technical knowledge of on-set camera equipment, digital acquisition formats and transcoding methods and formats

• Knowledge of different color spaces e.g. RGB, identifying issues with images and taking or advising on corrective action

• Knowledge of Linux, Mac OS, Windows and Unix based OS and with LAN infrastructures, file and directory permissions and networking concepts and terminology, SAN storage, Storenext

• Flexible approach to work (able to work weekends, nights and additional hours in line with the Production schedule

• Able to travel for weeks / months within the UK and internationally
