Senior Software Sourcing Manager


The Global Category Manager (GCM) for Software (SW) aims at delivering favorable impacts to his/her internal customers’ business performance and at protecting Technicolor’s interests. This position can also be referred to as "SW GCM" or "Software Sourcing Manager".

Essential Functions


Commercial negotiations:

  • As the leader of the negotiation team, the SW GCM identifies and assesses potential vendors together with key internal stakeholders in the region, then negotiates corresponding agreements. Negotiations aim at aggressively minimizing Technicolor’s costs and gain benefits through non-costing provisions.
  • Systematic involvement at new projects' inception in order to conduct an early and thorough Sourcing process: RFI, RFQ, multiyear negotiation, SW supplier selection, SoW (Scope of Work) engagement.
  • Negotiate all terms influencing TCO including but not limited to payment terms, incoterms, flexibility, NREs or development funds, rebates etc; manage the comprehensive cost structure with the best overall value to the company.

Supplier Management:

  • Owns the business relationship with suppliers: organize the supplier governance meetings through appropriate regular business, technical and commercial reviews at relevant hierarchical levels.
  • Be able to communicate with supplier and internal stakeholders at higher management level
  • Track supplier's execution performance and take appropriate escalation actions.
  • Foster relationships that allow close interactions and brings preferential conditions to Technicolor in the area of innovation e.g. early roadmap access, integration of Technicolor technologies into suppliers' roadmap, etc.
  • Manage key SW suppliers mainly based out of the North America region, including but not limited to Broadcom (on SW topics), Microsoft, Google, Tivo, and some of the Europe based suppliers, and outsourcing companies based out of

Contractual negotiations:

  • The SW GCM is responsible for negotiating Service Agreements, Software License Agreements (“SLAs”) standalone and SLAs related to SW bundled with HW components such as SoCs.
  • Shape/redline all contractual clauses with Legal Counsel to achieve the best possible performance and minimize Technicolor's risk, particularly on Intellectual Property and liabilities.


In accordance with Technicolor Information Protection Policy, ensure that valued information of both Technicolor and its third parties such as customers, vendors, subcontractors and partners is protected.


Required Education and Experience

or equivalent combination of education and experience

Master-degree in computer sciences

Minimum 8 years’ experience in embedded software sourcing, software development outsourcing,  or relevant fields;

Experience in negotiating software license agreements and/or engineering services agreement. Be confident to negotiate IP terms, liabilities terms and other main terms that are common in the license agreements.

Market intelligence and insight in the telco and cable product lines is preferable

Project management skills (abilities to manage projects and foster multi-functional, multi-cultural team)

Peferred Education and Experience: Master-degree software engineering is preferred
