Hardware Test Design Engineer


Technicolor Connected Home division has a proven track record of delivering state-of-the-art gateway platforms to Telecom Operators worldwide.
For the Broadband Product Unit, we're looking for a Hardware Test Design Engineer the key responsibilities for the Hardware Test Design Engineer are:


  • Be involved early in the product design life-cycle, starting from supporting the hardware architects and help defining the best approach in design for production testing.
  • Translate the customer product requirements into hardware specifications for factory testing
  • Drive the schematic and layout design with the engineering team with respect to functional and practical test hooks in the design for ultimate use on the factory production line
  • Coordinate with operations on test flow
  • Coordinate with the engineering team to Review and approve the CAD files.
  • Define the hardware test plans and test methods for the system, review and approve the test results from factory builds, conduct testing as needed as well as maintaining specifications throughout the process
  • Define the requirements for device software to support factory testing
  • Liaise with the rest of the internal team (e.g. mechanical, compliance, …) to make sure the product is meeting quality and cost targets.


Candidate Profile


  • Bachelor’s degree (or similar by experience) in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.



  • 5 to 10 years relevant hands-on hardware design experience, with emphasize on designing for large volume mass production
  • General understanding of system engineering concepts
  • Strong general understanding of electronic manufacturing and test processes
  • A good understanding of statistics as it relates to product manufacturing and test
  • Experience in testing RF circuitry (Wifi, Iot, etc) a plus.
  • Understanding of embedded SW concepts. Experience with Linux scripting a plus.
  • Familiar with Ethernet 10/100/1G, VOIP, USB1.1/2.0/3.0 designs and standards.
  • Experience in managing an external partners or major component sub-contractor is a strong plus.
  • Result driven team player and problem solver.

  • Negotiation skills.
  • Accustomed to work in a multi-cultural environment with teams spread over multiple sites.



  • Fluent in Mandarin and English (oral + written).



  • Willing to travel to locally and internationally occasionally
